Helical Gearbox The gearbox of cooling tower made by high quality case-hardening alloy steel. The gear boxes used are of the single reduction worm and wheel pattern rated in accordance with the British Gear Manufacturers Associated recommendations.
The worm case is hardened alloy steel and drives a cast phosphor bronze wheel which is shrunk and pegged onto a cast iron hub. Roller bearings and angular contact bearings with double oil seals are used throughout ,drain, fill and vent pipe are carried to the outside of the Fan casing and a remote level dipstick is provided.
